The Ultimate Family Movie Night: How to Host a Minion-Themed Evening
There’s nothing quite like a Sunday movie night to round off the weekend with a smile. With Minions airing on Sunday, 18 October, at 6:20pm on eMovies (Openview channel 106), it’s the perfect excuse to transform your living room into Villain-Con headquarters.

Want to make movie night extra special for the kids? Here’s how to create the ultimate Minion-themed family evening with minimum fuss and maximum fun.
1. Dress code: yellow and denim
Set the scene before anyone settles in. Ask the whole family to dress in their best Minion uniform: a bright yellow T-shirt with blue denim dungarees or jeans. If you have round glasses or goggles lying around, they’re the perfect finishing touch for Kevin, Stuart or Bob.
2. Set up a Minion-approved snack station.
No movie night is complete without snacks, so give your favourites a playful Minion makeover:
‘Banana’ popcorn cups: Grab a few paper cups, paint them yellow, draw a pair of Minion goggles on each one with a black marker and fill them with popcorn.
Minion cupcakes: Bake – or buy – simple vanilla cupcakes, top them with bright yellow icing, and test your piping skills by adding a single eyeball in the centre.
The all-important banana bar: Keep it simple and wholesome with a bowl of fresh bananas labelled ‘BA-NA-NA!’ for the ultimate themed snack.
3. Build the ultimate blanket fort.
Turn your couch or lounge floor into a cosy home cinema. Bring out the extra blankets, pillows and sleeping bags so everyone can settle in together. Dim the lights, switch on the TV and let the adventure begin.
Don’t miss the fun!
Get ready for plenty of laughs, family fun and a whole lot of ‘BANANA!’ Tune in to eMovies on Sunday 18 October at 6:20pm on eMovies (Openview channel 106).
Snap a photo of your family’s Minion setup and tag Openview on social media – we’d love to see how you make movie night your own!
