How to activate your decoder?

You can activate your decoder by following these steps from your mobile phone:-

  1. Dial *120*6843*1#
  2. Select option 1 to activate your STB
  3. Select your province
  4. Enter your area postal code or city postal code
  5. Enter your STB number
  6. Process completed - Wait 2 -5 minutes to view channels.

 

What is an STB Number?

Please note that the STB Number should start with 255, 31, 32, 33 or 34. You can find it by pressing HELP on your remote. 

What is a Area Code?

You can type the name of your area on Google and search for the area code. It is a four digit code. Alternatively, please visit the below website for the postal code for your area: -

Are you struggling with No signal or No channel?

 Please follow these steps if you are experiencing no channels or no signal:-  

Step 1: Do a factory reset by pressing 12345 on your remote control and press OK.  

Step 2: If you were using Explorer before Openview, you need to restore LNB settings... Go to menu on your remote > settings > installation > search channels. Select "LNB type" on the right hand side and change setting to 'SatCR". Press the Red colour coded button to initiate the scan. 

Step 3: Once channel 100 appears, you will need Precious to activate your decoder using you mobile phone. Let us know if channel 100 is playing. 

Step 4: Please check your signal... Press the Help button on your remote control and check signal strength and quality. You can send a screenshot if possible. If the signal strength and quality is zero, you will need to call an installer to come realign your dish, as it is an installation problem.

 

How to read your B-mail?

To remove the B-Mail icon please follow the below steps:-

If you have a NA-9200, KSTB 2194, KSTB 2184 Openview model
Step 1: Press menu –select B-Mail
Step 2: Press the “green” button –to delete All

UEC –DSD4165 Openview model
Step 1: Press Menu –Select Settings
Step 2: Select B-Mail
Step 3 : Press the Blue button until all B-mails are cleared.

 

How to recover missing channels?

Can you please do the following.

 1. Press menu from the remote control
 2. From the screen scroll to setting then press ok 
 3. Under setting go to installation and press ok. Parental pin code will be required, enter 1234.
 4. Scroll down to channel search and press ok
 5. Press ok again to start channel search
 
 NB: When the channel search is finished give the STB at least 3 minutes to recover the lost channels.
 You can see if the channels have been recovered by changing the program or simply press ok on you remote to display the list.

 

How to format your PVR stick?

If you want to format a PVR Stick please follow these steps; 

Menu > Scroll to the left to Media > Media Settings > Select Format HDD Or to Format the OV PVR stick Press Menu > Settings > User Preference > Recordings > Select Format Recording Device. Let us know should you require further assistance.

If you want us to unblock your decoder

If you want us to unblock the decoder you must email an affidavit, Copy of your South African identity document with your details and STB number to [email protected] confirming that the decoder isn’t lost, stolen or outside the country. Once all relevant information is received, the decoder can be unblocked.
